This is possible with TableJX. You can create a view in your DB to show only specific data for your clients. Then you create a table in joomla admin page and put it on the content page, that has Access Level set to Registered. Your clients are now able to login and view your data. They can also use search function - which is very fast and can search any substring in all or just one column.

Once they have found the right quote/job, they would like to click on the right field which opens up another screen showing more details.

This is not possible for now. I suggest you to put another column, let's say "Details" to show some information to your clients. In this case they can also "easy" search in this column. If you play a little bit with SQL views you can join few tables together. This can bring flat data and it is easier to use than some nested master-detail views.

But maybe the development will go also in this direction. This depends on your support.

This feature is not yet supported, but you can expect it few weeks.

For now you can insert into your database a whole html link code as explained above.

Im a newbie at Joomla and don't know so much about it yet, and it's a jungle out there with extensions.

So why should I buy TableJX instead of example Art Data ( data.artetics.com/ )

Of course it is your choice which tool you will choose, but I can say that the TableJX is very easy to use, it has very simple yet powerful admin interface and can be integrated in any article with a few simple clicks.
