I'm sorry to say, but Oracle db is not yet supported. We are working right now on compatibility with databases other than mysql, so you can expect the solution soon.

For external DB:

We already have developed solutions for connection with external DBs (like oracle, mssql). But, problem is with documentation how to set everything up - on linux, on windows, what can be done on hosting server (e.g. with cPanel).

This documentation is very complex, but if you dont do this setting, also our solution won't work.

This depends on:

- software versions
- DB settings(e.g. for mssql dynamic ports)
- OS (linux, windows) settings (firewall, ports)
- router settings
- enabling extensions in php.ini
- installing libraries in apache/bin (e.g. native client for oracle)
- installing files in joomla database folder ("DB drivers")
- ...

After that, you would be able to test the connection with the scripts. If you dont succeed with test script, you should look for the problem on other forums, software providers...

Solution that works "out of the box" for external DB? It doesnt exist.
